Independent Animation
Animation reviewer: 2016, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Senior Animation projects.

Selection Committee: 2012 Hiroshima International Animation Festival, Hiroshima Japan. Evaluated over 2,100 animated short films from around the world with a panel of 4 international animators over three weeks and assisted with programming the Competition section of the festival.

Produced three award-winning independent short films screened at national and international festivals and cable television.

Community Involvement
Massachusetts Master Gardener: volunteer gardening and outreach, 2015-present. Certified Massachusetts Master Gardener since 2015, Principal Master Gardener since 2018.

English as Second Language Volunteer Teacher 2013-2015: Highrock Church, Arlington, MA. Taught ESL class, with reading skills and conversational English.

Juror: Mystic Arts Center, Mystic CT. Evaluated over two hundred framed photographs for a regional art photography exhibition and determined prizewinners, September 2014.

Somerville Garden Tour Volunteer Photographer 2013, 2010:  for Somerville Garden Club’s event. Pictures used for promotion, documentation.

This was a fantastic experience.

Mentor, Spring 2010: Mentored a senior student from the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School about photography. Student’s final project on toy camera photography produced a presentation and self-published book of
pictures.

Somerville Illuminations Tour, 2003-2005 and 1996-1998: Photographer. Worked with Somerville Arts Council to produce photographs of a popular community holiday trolley tour of light displays. Pictures were produced as greeting cards and a photo essay in a book entitled “Somerville City of Lights,” published by the City of Somerville Arts Council in 2006.

Lost Theatres of Somerville, 2002-2003: Documentary photographer for a collaborative project and exhibition between Tufts University and the Somerville Museum. Curated by David Guss, Professor of Anthropology, Tufts University. http://www.losttheatres.org/

Somerville Garden Awards, 1990-1998: Photographer and judge of annual community garden event. Collaborated with Cecily Miller, Director of the Somerville Arts Council. Personal photographs served as Ms. Miller’s inspiration for the exhibition component of this nine-year community arts project that involved oral histories and annual exhibitions of portraits and winning gardens.
